Noted as one of the most captivating Musical shows of our time, Bye Bye Birdie tells the story of a rock and roll singer about to be inducted into the army. None-too-successful songwriter Albert Peterson hatches a plot with his secretary - and long-suffering girlfriend - to get rock-and-roll phenomenon Conrad Birdie to sing one of his songs on the Ed Sullivan show. The pop star would then honor a typical teenage girl with an all American kiss., this being his last appearance before being drafted. Complicated to start with, things get more tricky as everyone including Albert's clinging mother descends on the small town where the chosen girl lives. Birdie is tired of being supervised and is ready to go out on his own. Birdie's Last Kiss causes an uproar, when the girl's steady boyfriend stops the TV show and everybody has to decide what they want out of life. This musical is full of famous songs such as "The Telephone Hour," "Got a Lot of Livin To Do," and "Put On a Happy Face." The cast is composed of local high-school students and features a full 12-piece orchestra.
