Jessup Heading to NAIA National Tournament
WJU Set To Play Bellevue University In The First Road of The NAIA National Tournament
Rocklin, Calif. - The William Jessup University men's basketball team earned an automatic bid into the 2010 NAIA Men's Basketball Division II National Championship, which will be held on Mar. 10-16 in Point Lookout, Mo. on the campus of College of the Ozarks.
The Warriors (17-13), who earned an automatic berth into the tournament after winning the CAL PAC Tournament on Tuesday night, will face Bellevue University (Nebraska) in the first round at 12 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, Mar. 11.
William Jessup will be making its 1st overall appearance at the NAIA National Championship. Bellevue, the MCAC regular and tournament Champion, finished the year at 25-7.
Head Coach Aaron Muhic is excited about the opportunity that lies ahead of his team.
“This is an exciting time for the WJU Basketball program and school,” said coach Muhic. “Our guys continue to remain focused on the task ahead. All year long, we have talked about taking it one day and one game at a time and focusing in on the process of improving every day. We are excited to get back on the court and get back to work and prepare for a talented Bellevue team.”
