Manuel Luz Trio and Brent Bourgeois Concert in Roseville
Jazz group Manuel Luz Trio, and musician Brent Bourgeois will be performing at the Friday Night Concert at the 2010 L’Abri Conference California in Roseville.
The L’Abri Conference California, to be held in Roseville August 5th-8th, will feature nine speakers from L’Abri Fellowship branches around the world. This four day conference offers a number of extras including the Friday Night Concert.
L’Abri is well-known for fostering public discussion about where philosophy, art, and culture intersect faith. The theme of the conference is ‘Thinking and Living the Way of Christ,’ and this theme will continue during the concert performance.

The Manuel Luz Trio: ML3 is a long-standing Sacramento-based band with three CDs, and they play what can be described as original jazz-tinged, piano-driven rock. ML3 is led by Manuel Luz, who has served as Creative Arts Pastor for Oak Hills Church in Folsom for 18 years. Rounding out the trio is Proclaim! International artist and missionary Steve Liberti on drums, and long-time journeyman Matt Sawhill on bass. Manuel recently published a book Imagine That (Moody Publishers) which details a theology of the arts, and how the arts must be an essential expression of Christian faith Manuel has been a pastor, musician, writer, and leader and mentor to artists for over 20 years. Interactive commentary/discussion is planned during the concert about his book and thoughts on faith and the arts.
Brent Bourgeois: Brent has been in the music industry for decades as a musician, writer, and producer. In 1995 he released a solo album Come Join the Living World (Reunion Records) Well-known recently on the Contemporary Christian Music scene for his work with Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, and others, Bourgeois currently leads worship at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Sacramento
The concert will begin on Friday, August 6 at 8:30. It will be hosted by the Global Café at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church, 2401 Olympus Drive, in Roseville.
