The Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation (REEF), a nonprofit community organization that provides financial support to Rocklin’s public schools, is inviting business and community members to help support the second annual Rocklin Royale fundraiser.

The event, with the support of Mercedes-Benz of Rocklin, will feature an elegant evening of Monte Carlo casino gaming, hors d’oeuvres, fun and entertainment. The proceeds from Rocklin Royale will benefit Rocklin’s public schools.

"A cornerstone of the Rocklin community continues to be our high-quality public schools,” said Tom DeLapp, chairman of the Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation. “Supporters of this worthwhile event are helping ensure that every child in Rocklin has a top-notch educational experience that prepares them well for college and their careers.”

This past November REEF awarded $16,191 in grants to five teams of teachers and school principals in Rocklin Unified School District as part of its annual “Great Idea” teacher grant program. “Rocklin is fortunate to have excellent schools that provide consistent, high-quality education to the children of our community,” said Tom DeLapp, the founding Chairman of the Rocklin Educational Excellence Foundation. However, the state of the economy and the reduction in funding for public education has meant that many essentials can no longer be provided by the district’s General Fund.

“That’s where the foundation comes in,” said DeLapp. “By bringing together community and civic leaders we intend to create the additional resources that will maintain the competitive edge for our students. Educational technology, special education, English Language acquisition, college prep, the visual and performing arts, and other vital programs need our support as residents if our students are going to have a rich and diverse educational experience.”

There are many opportunities for involvement, from sponsorships to in-kind contributions of food, wine, equipment and auction items. Sponsor levels range from Diamond ($1,000) to Ruby ($125). Sponsors and vendors will be recognized for their support in event literature, on the REEF website and at the gaming tables. Sponsorships of $250 or more include tickets to the event.

The Rocklin Royale will be the evening of Friday, February 3, 2012, at Mercedes-Benz, 4747 Granite Drive in Rocklin. Tickets purchased in advance are $40 per person and $70 per couple. Tickets at the door will be $50 per person.
